Mar 15, 2009 - The show's a complete pack of lies. Liberal propaganda, A rewrite of social history to fit their leftist agenda. My father worked for corporations in the 60s, my mother was in the secretarial pool at J&J and both say that they never experienced anything like this dishonest portrayal of life in that era. Everyone was married, raising children and struggling. No time for affairs -- NO PILL!. Any office hanky-panky especially out in the open, was grounds for IMMEDIATE dismissal -no questions!
Dregel Says:
Mar 18, 2009 - Your parents experience speaks for themselves. I heard both this and the opposite. But what do you mean with "no pill?"
lambkelly Says:
Mar 26, 2009 - Sorry your experience is based on your parents. I have been living all my life in a family in the Ad world/Marketing.... it has been like this since for ever! Cheating has been a deplorable thing all along our time... History has shown! Love and war. Please don't be upset with the crude reality of our existance! Thank God we have had a woman's right movement... if not... Mad Men would be our life NOW!

Mar 26, 2009 - Let us all enjoy this great series... My friend is the producer and he loves working the series!!!!!

Apr 1, 2009 - Umm I am quite sure office "hanky-panky" did occur at this time, as it has occurred throughout the ages since Cleopatra and the Roman times - although probably not so blatantly or gratuitously, this is an American TV show after all. Just because your parents didn't experience it themselves doesn't mean it didn't happen...
why0not0canada Says:
Apr 1, 2009 - wow you really think your parents told u all about what happend in their jobs. And u also think that everyone that was working in those day are actually pictured by mad men like if they wanted to show 'the everyday job of everyone in the 60's' You're just another naive person. living in a fake world.

Apr 21, 2009 - That's interesting. The show is billed as being socially authentic. You say it's not. You are probably right. I don't know too much about the early 60's.I do, however, have accurate memories of the 1970's. There is a show called "That 70's Show." I can tell you that that is thoroughly inauthentic. Yes, they get the clothing styles, etc. correct. But attitudes and behavior are completely out of place. The writers just use the show as a propaganda platform.

May 2, 2009 - No time for affairs? This is naive thinking. Man has been having affairs since the dawn of society.

May 2, 2009 - Interesting insight. The one part where I might disagree is if Pete really does care for Peggy. I think more will have to be revealed before I agree on this. Mostly I wonder if Pete comes back to Peggy simply because it inflates his ego. Obviously there is a sexual desire, but Peggy may just be that other lady.
hpmoody Says:
May 9, 2009 - LOL " you're not being professional" , he shouldn't be saying that when peggy IS being professional.
frenchitwist Says:
May 10, 2009 - Did they work in the advertising! Advertising then and now is the most sexist business around! And this stuff, though fictional, could have happened. So don't go around generalizing things unless you've experienced it!

May 30, 2009 - I couldn't see the whole thing because "The Secret Millionaire" was on the other chanel at the same time..But I managed to see the near end of the series where this lady tells this guy that she could have made him suffer; that he had had a son by her whom she had given up for adoption about a year previously..I will get it on Torrent in the middle east and watch the whole thing when I am on vacation..cheers.
MoilAndToil Says:
May 30, 2009 - Dear Dreg.,Who knows what she means; she is reporting something that her parents told her when she was young and perhaps unable to distinguish fact from ficton or cencorship to a minor etc..No Pill reminds me that at that moment in time all women became the equivalent of homosexual-passive-men, their rendering their reproductive systems in part as the homosexuals arse..A great step for woman-kind !cheers.
MoilAndToil Says:
May 30, 2009 - She was with him, in the laying in a biblical sense; she tells him at the very end of the series..She may be smart aposteriori -like we mostly all are.

Aug 28, 2009 - I just started watching the show. And I can't stand that douchebag. Pete just seems like someone I would like to punch in the face. I don't know wtf peggy slept with that SOB...
adhfan75 Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - LOL! Pete was kinda seductive there for a few seconds, but I'm glad Peggy put him in his place because technically that was workplace harassment, despite their secret relationship.
prumott08 Says:
