Dec 29, 2009 - no, she didnt miss a lead change anywhere, the judge can overlook the swap cuz its eq. based on the rider not the horse, if the horse just swapped to no mistake by the rider, then the judge can dismiss it,, but the judge would have to determine if the horse just swapped or if the rider pulled him

Jan 4, 2010 - i know she won thats why i was surprised and the lead was not the horses fault she was long and logan was strung out. and i know what a counter canter is but it looked like she was cross cantering. if you pause at 1:48 you can see his front right leg leading and his back right leg behind, meaning she is cross cantering. she got it but it was late and noticeable. she has a lot of politics on her side. the judges choose to a certain degree what they see and what they "miss"

Jan 16, 2010 - i didnt say it was a driving seat, you do need to be light in the saddle otherwise your horse won't move well. i agree with you completely, but im just trying to say that you cant come out of the saddle every other stride.

It's an excellent course overall, but once you notice the lead swap right before the oxer, and then the cross cantering before the last fence, I kind of question how the judges could have overlooked that... they're not HUGE mistakes, but when it's equitation finals, it's enough to make a difference in the pinning. But then again, I don't know how the other top riders did, they could have had more or bigger mistakes..

Feb 23, 2010 - I wish I could find Brianne's Maclay round, but in general she is amazing. If you watch any of her equitation rounds and compare it to, say, Zazou's Maclay round from this year, it's a shame that more riders didn't ride like Brianne. In my opinion, Zazou didn't deserve to win.
