Feb 6, 2010 - haha, I love the people who are excited about having decedents of Man O' War, its so cute. A huge percentage of racehorses descend from him, the current all sire lines being Tiznow, Bertrando, and Honour and Glory (through Man O' War's son, War Relic). Look 5 or 6 generations down your horse's papers and you're bound to find him. I know my mare has him twice on her dam's side ( Hoist the Flag's & Crafty Admiral's great-grandsire). Just thought you should know! :D

Mar 16, 2010 - To this day...only 2 horses were physically in a different league than all other race horses....Man O' War & Secretariat. They were far superior in build and muscle tone. Facially, Man O' War was handsome. Secretariat was absolutely breath-taking. When you compare their physiques to all other race horses throughout history, it's not even close. Man O' War & Secretariat stood out from the rest. Still do:-)

Mar 27, 2010 - I so wish to have been there to see Man O War. He is a fathered many great generations of famous race horses. I wish he will always be remembered as a true race horse, and he deserved to be horse of the century.

Apr 12, 2010 - @calpatt11 The term "Triple Crown" was coined in 1930 by Charles Hatton as Gallant Fox won all 3 races. Sir Barton was only horse to win all 3 races before that.

Apr 16, 2010 - Wow!! What an EXCELLENT video! I had no idea that so much GOOD footage was available. You have done a great job bringing the original Big Red back to life! And the score you set it to does him justice. Great job!!!

Apr 24, 2010 - Ugh. Guys, quit bringing Secretariat into this! The title says Man o'War. You can't really compare the two anyway-there are too many differences in racing in 1920 and 1973

Jul 8, 2010 - @riodajanero what about Zenyatta? dont you shes pretty awesome...winning the 2009 Breeder's Cup from dead last!
99mxylptlk Says:
Jul 8, 2010 - Zenyatta is a good horse, however, MOW literally wiped out and scared away every horse he met. The times and racing conditions nay have been different, but he set records which still stand today, he litterally beat a horse by 100 lengths (confirmed) and set a breeding dynasty which still impacts racing today.
99mxylptlk Says:
Jul 8, 2010 - My grandparents owned a great grandson of MOW. His name was Cosmic Clip. He showed promise as a stakes winner, but broke down in his 3rd race, resulting in early retirement. That's when my grandfather aquired him. He owned him along with 3 other horses on a ranch in New Mexico. Once he healed, he could still run pretty fast, but my grandfather didn't want to risk injuring him. He was a very nice horse.
