Oct 8, 2009 - Man O War was the creature of creatures. What a Noble horse he was.....

TheDiana822 Says:

Oct 17, 2009 - Other than your observations stated here, do you have any proof that Secretariat was given steriods? Not saying you are wrong, but I"ve never heard or read this. Man O' War was voted Horse of the Century by those that know horse racing, so I'll go with them Most here weren't around to watch his glorious races. A lot of us did watch Secretariat and loved him. I just don't see why one wonderful horse should be torn down to show which one was better. They were both magnificient!

Oct 22, 2009 - he is so gawjus an alegant!!!!

Letswinjeff Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - secretariat did not take steroids to make his heart large. if you check you will find that several other horses had large hearts as well. sham did as well. his was actually a bit larger than secretariats. these horses had a hereditary enlargement of the heart.

carlykaiser Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - Sham's heart was NOT larger than Secretariat's.However, this video is about neither

Letswinjeff Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - my,my,my carly. I do stand slightly corrected. according to dr. thomas swerczek secretariats heart weighed in at est. 22 lbs. and sham had the second largest heart coming in at 18 lbs. but if you were to read the previous post conversation you would have noticed my response was in lew of others. and yes the video is not about a heart weight, but you chose to dive into other peoples conversations. maybe next time you should pass it by. that way you wont feel flustered.

dptcruiser Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - Leave Secretariat out of this he has his own, this is about the MAN Man O War, he was big, he was heavy, not so tall, but oh so wonderful, he raced the best and won, then his off spring raced and won, what more could we have asked for. I just wish I could have seen him in other than a You Tube video.

TheDiana822 Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - I feel I have a connection to both Man O' War and to Secretariat. My father was born the same year as Man O' War, and he died unexpectedly soon after we cheered Secretariat's win in the Triple Crown. Nice moment to remember. I just love both horses. Glad I could see Secretariat in real time, and wish I could have seen Man O' War in all his glory!Thank you, Carly. We are so lucky for your video postings, Means a lot!

Nov 8, 2009 - I <3 MAN O~ WAR!!!

riodajanero Says:

Nov 10, 2009 - Man did our breeders and trainers know how to make them back in the day or what? The horses could chew nails back then and they seem to run with all their heart..... I dont like "some" of the "made in China" horses we have today..... We have lost so much in the racing industry and it is so very sad because in the day we did it for love and the challenge and not so much for the money.....

Nov 14, 2009 - One of my friends owns a show jumping horse who is an ancestor of him. :D

piehole23 Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - Probably a descendant rather than an ancestor, or your friend's horse would be very old, indeed ;-)

Liberty9m Says:

Jan 25, 2010 - Wow. That sums it up. Wow. That was one macho horse. I really love the old style noble-looking heads and the "look of eagles" in their eyes. What a gorgeous animal. He's like the equine version of Michelangelo's David...

822d Says:

Feb 2, 2010 - Thanks for the posting, Carly.Man O' War' and his very longtime groom, Will Harbut,, had such a special bond, and it shows in the videos. They seemed to truly love and respect each other.

Feb 4, 2010 - stunning footage!!!! thank you for making it; it made me happy too!

ponihoax Says:

Feb 6, 2010 - haha, I love the people who are excited about having decedents of Man O' War, its so cute. A huge percentage of racehorses descend from him, the current all sire lines being Tiznow, Bertrando, and Honour and Glory (through Man O' War's son, War Relic). Look 5 or 6 generations down your horse's papers and you're bound to find him. I know my mare has him twice on her dam's side ( Hoist the Flag's & Crafty Admiral's great-grandsire). Just thought you should know! :D
